Honeymoon Day 2: May 27

After four flights (20-hours) to Hawaii, two weeks of exhausting preparation for the wedding, and the wedding itself, Nicole and I wanted to do one thing...SLEEP LATE! That's right, no early rising on Day 2, that's for sure. We both slept in until about 11 AM and woke up starving. We ate at Duo, one of the restaurants at the Four Seasons. Unfortunately, we were too late for the breakfast buffet (oh boo hoo, you say, I know). I had lemon ricotta pancakes that were possibly the BEST pancakes I have EVER EATEN. I know, that is huge assertion. But one that I feel comfortable making. Nicole had brioche French toast which was pretty damn good too. Of course, our wonderful breakfast was interrupted..by a bird...doing it's business...ON MY HEAD! Yes, that's right, most of the restaurants at the Four Seasons are "open air" so that birds and what not can fly in. Well, one little jerkbird decided to let loose on me. Thankfully, it was after I was done eating my pancakes or else I would have killed the damn thing on the spot.

Then we hit the pool and relaxed for most of the day. This entailed swimming, drinking and sleeping some more. At night, we stopped in the hotel bar, ordered some more drinks and watched a hula dance. Then we took the Mustang out for a drive to a local Maui restaurant called Sansei. Nicole and I got the prix fixe, which was an assortment of sushi, grilled calamari, butterfish and crab ravioli. It was incredibly good, and not that expensive. Nicole thought it was funny that I ordered a large Kirin Ichiban beer, but hey, we are on our honeymoon, what better excuse to drink!
