Nicole and I have different feelings about Halloween. I think it's fun to dress up. Nicole has not liked dressing up in a costume since she had to wear long underwear beneath her princess costume when she was little. Repeatedly. Nicole likes to see kids in their costumes trick-or-treating, but thinks it's kind of lame for adults to do the same. (And seriously, why do all 18 to 24 year old women only dress up in provocative costumes? There's slutty nurse, slutty cheerleader, slutty cop, and just plain old slutty slut).

I think carving pumpkins is fun, and have made it a tradition to carve them with Nicole since we started dating. This year we carved one with the Twins.

We both love Halloween-themed foods... Nicole got a Rita's pumpkin flavored ice and I got a Starbucks pumpkin latte on Halloween this year (oooh, be warned children, the calories are frightening! muah-ha-ha!)

To celebrate Halloween, we set up our CVS Halloween decorations (96% of all of our decorations--for any holiday-- are purchased from CVS) and passed out candy to the kids in the building we live in. You had to put a cut-out pumpkin on your door to let the parents know that you were participating in the trick-or-treating festivities. The little kids knocked on our door and demanded candy. Nicole bought mini bags of pretzels and peanut butter M&Ms to hand out. One of the trick-or-treaters must vehemently dislike pretzels because she actually took the bag out of her pumpkin and returned them to our bowl, if you can believe that! We got about a dozen or so kids that came to the door, including the 2-year-old twins down the hall who ate candy for the first time by biting right through the wrapper.
All in all, a good Halloween!

It's not fair that kids these days get 70 degree weather for trick-or-treating while I always had to wear long john underwear plus my winter coat which ruined my costume!!! ;)

And I remember (back in the stone age) being able to trick-or-treat from the close of the school day on......now, we're lucky to have a few kids come between the City of VB-appointed hours of 6 and 8! So sad.....
