Florist? Check!

I'm happy to report that our plans are moving right along and we now have ourselves a florist, yay! Vito from Pedestals will be handling all things floral for our wedding, and we are very happy with the decision. Hooray for crossing yet another thing off the to-do list! Looks like the bride is getting closer and closer to her groom... ;)

Last Saturday we took a drive out to Long Island to meet with 3 different florists: one recommended by East Wind (which was pricey as we expected), one no frills (which made Shep nervous that our flowers might not show up), and then Pedestals which I discovered on a LI wedding planning website. When we walked into the Pedestals office in New Hyde Park, we were really impressed. They had beautiful centerpieces set up in all different colors and styles. After seeing the showroom Shep and I both thought Pedestals would be completely out of our budget, so we were pleasantly surprised to find out they were competitively priced while offering such great creativity and taste. The floral designer we met with was really friendly, and kept saying we were so fun. We actually thought we were kind of boring but nice of him to say otherwise. ;) After leaving Pedestals we were happy with Vito's ideas and prices offered, so we took some time to read some reviews and then called to book this afternoon!
