This past weekend, Nicole and I completed our Pre-Cana sessions with our Church in Wading River. For those of you unfamiliar with Pre-Cana, it is a mandatory counseling session that those couples wishing to get married in a Catholic church must complete. Our session was led by two couples who spoke about their own experiences in their marriages. We also did a number of compatibility excersizes akin to the old NewlyWed Game, in which we had to answer questions posed to the other person. Nicole and I did pretty well, although when asked what my favorite dinner was, she said "hummus," (I said sushi), and when asked if she would be OK in a hypothetical scenario with me going out with friends on a Friday night (without her) after we were married, I said "No" and she said "Yes." Who knew? All in all, it was an enjoyable time, and we like interacting with the other couples. And the bonus: we got ice cream sundaes at Friendly's!Monday, November 10, 2008
