Our One Year Engage-versary

Although some criticize it as a commercialized holiday invented by the flower, candy and greeting card industries, Saint Valentine's Day is celebrated pretty widely across the world - making the day special for many people. But for us February 14, 2008 is especially special because it marks the date Shep proposed to me.

As you are probably already aware the event was a huge surprise to me and, to be honest, I'm still trying to recollect all the details from the evening, so if you'd like to join me in a little walk down memory lane, please do!

Here is our engagement announcement:

Back in August at our 6 month mark, it was hard to believe how quickly the time had already passed and now it's even harder to believe it's been a full year that we've been engaged! 365 days later, here we are, still standing, hand in hand!

Shep surprised me this year with beautiful red roses accompanied by a sweet card, signed by my fiance. It's a little surreal to imagine that we will celebrate next Valentine's Day (and, God willing, many holidays thereafter) as husband and wife, but one thing is for sure... "Miss" or "Mrs." February 14 will always have a special place in my heart as our engage-versary. ;)
