Family Really Is Everything

Yesterday was my surprise bridal shower, given by the best family and friends a person could ask for. The best part about yesterday wasn't the presents, or the food, or even the cake - it was the love and support of all the wonderful women who set aside a piece of their busy days and lives to spend a little time with me and Shep. The fact that so many people love and support us really means the world to us, and we consider ourselves very blessed for this reason. Today I learned some very bad news about grandfather's health, and all I can think about is how much the love of family means in this world. After all the speeches are made, dances are danced, food is eaten, and presents are unwrapped... all that really matters is who you were lucky enough to share those milestones with. And I have been blessed to have the love of the best family and friends anyone could ever hope for.
