the personal touch

Shep and I attended a wedding earlier this month at the Central Park Boathouse. The food was yummy and the music and dancing were great, just as expected in NYC. But what stuck out the most in my mind were the belly dancers, complete with candelabras balanced on their heads! (Check out the couple's wedding announcement to read more.)

I am one of those people who happens to L-O-V-E weddings. They are such happy occasions, and always so much fun. One of the best parts about attending a wedding, though, is the glimpse you get into the personalities and cultures of the couple getting married. There are a ton of decisions that go into organizing a wedding, from selecting the music to the decorations to the menu choices... and the final product is a culmination of the preferences the couple you are there to celebrate has made. What distinguishes a good wedding from a great wedding in my opinion is not how well the filet
mignon is cooked or whether I like the chosen color scheme. A truly great wedding reflects the tastes of the bride and groom and provides the guests an inside glimpse into who they are as people. When a couple adds a bit of themselves into their wedding ceremony and reception, they make the affair personal - which in turn creates a great experience for the guests in attendance!
