Cake Tasting
While some wedding planning can be a drag, Nicole and I completed one of the most anticipated tasks: cake tasting! That's right, you get to taste all different flavors of cakes and fillings to decide which one you will use for your wedding cake. I admit, the actual experience was somewhat of a letdown. I pictured being served pieces of cake, one after the other, while the waiter explained each one and what the fillings were. We didn't get that. Or anything near it. We drove an hour in traffic all the way to the bakery, only to be presented with a box full of little samples. The girl behind the counter said "you have to refrigerate it" and then sent us on our merry way. She obviously didn't know us very well, because Nicole and I weren't refrigerating nothin'-we asked for plastic spoons, then walked across the parking lot to a Starbucks and chowed down! We weren't big fans of the cherry filling, and the lemon one wasn't a great hit either. I won't say what we chose (you'll have to find out on May 23 for that) but suffice it to say we were very happy with our choices.
